TV Commercial, 16-Page Newspaper Insert Highlight Boyda's Vision for Energy Independence
TOPEKA, KS – Beginning today, Congresswoman Nancy Boyda (Kansas Second District) is publishing a 16-page newspaper insert in 48 newspapers across the Kansas Second Congressional District. The tabloid-sized Voter’s Guide: A 2020 Vision for America’s Energy Future unveils Congresswoman Boyda’s proposals for America’s energy policy, including a detailed look at where America’s energy will come from in the year 2020.The Voter’s Guide is accompanied by Congresswoman Boyda’s first TV commercial of the 2008 election cycle, which highlights her dedication to running an issues-focused campaign free of robocalls and misleading attack ads.
“Whatever your views on energy policy, we can all agree on one thing: without a vision for America’s energy future, we’ll never get where we need to go,” Congresswoman Boyda said. “The Voter’s Guide is meant to open a thoughtful and informed debate about energy policy. Kansas has got to move past the rhetoric of 30-second ads and have a meaningful conversation about drilling, alternative fuels, and conservation.”
She added, “A sound energy policy is critical to our national security and to our nation’s economy.”
The Voter’s Guide highlights a three-legged energy policy platform: domestic drilling to increase oil supply and rein in gas prices; alternative energy research to help America achieve energy independence through domestic sources such as wind, solar, and biofuels; and conservation to reduce America’s energy consumption.
The newspaper insert follows a 20-page Congressional Update that appeared in newspapers last month, as well as a series of tabloids published during Congresswoman Boyda’s 2006 campaign. Further editions of the Voter’s Guide will follow between now and Election Day.
